Heat Transfer Film is a sheet used in heat transfer printing, where a special type of ink, also called heat transfer ink, is applied. The image to be printed on surfaces such as ceramic tiles, crystal, glass, phone cases, handbags, PET plastic, ABS plastic, PP plastic, HDPE plastic, aluminum, coated metals, glass, or wood is first printed directly onto the heat transfer film. A layer of heat-activated adhesive is then applied to the surface. Finally, a heat press machine is used to transfer and adhere the image onto the target material.

Heat Transfer Printing Process on Products at Hyun-tech

The heat transfer printing process on transfer film is relatively simple and does not require highly experienced or skilled operators like other printing methods:

Step 1: Design the image or logo to be printed on a computer using software such as Photoshop or CorelDRAW, then load the design into the printer.

Step 2: The design is printed onto the heat transfer film. The colors are printed first, followed by a layer of white ink on top to serve as the background for the printed image.

Step 3: A layer of heat transfer adhesive is applied over the printed image.

Step 4: The printed film is dried to ensure the transfer powder adheres to the surface of the image. The pressing roller is adjusted to evenly distribute the adhesive across the entire surface.

Step 5: The transfer film is pressed onto the target material using a flat heat press machine. This printing method can be applied to cotton fabrics, painted surfaces, light- or dark-colored plastics, and various other materials.
